파주시을 박정 국회의원(더불어민주당)이 2026년도 정부 예산안 심사 과정에서 파주시 관련 국비 총 1,363억 원을 확보했으며, 이 중 56억 원을 국회 예산 심사를 통해 증액했다고 밝혔다. 

 이번 확보 예산은 파주시의 미래 산업 기반을 다지고 환경 및 교통 인프라를 대폭 확충하는 데 중점을 둔 것으로 평가된다.

특히 국회 증액분은 파주의 미래 산업을 이끌 핵심 기반 마련에 집중되었다.

파주 LCD산업단지 관련 시설 설치비 44억 원, 경기북부 에너지고속도로 추진을 위한 연구 용역 4억 7천만 원, 국립기후위기체험관 설립을 위한 연구 용역 1억 원 등이 반영되어 파주가 첨단산업과 기후산업 중심도시로 도약할 수 있는 준비를 본격적으로 갖추게 되었다.

파주 국립박물관 문화클러스터 조성계획 4억 5천만 원은 파주가 사업 대상 지역에 포함되도록 문화체육관광부와 기획재정부와의 사전 협의를 거듭한 결과이다. 

국립 감악산 자연휴양림 조성사업은 원안 25억 원을 50억 원으로 증액하여 조기 마무리를 추진하며, 적성 근린생활형 국민체육센터 건립 3억 원도 정부안에 반영시켰다.

이러한 노력은 시민들의 체감도가 높은 생활 및 교통 인프라 분야에서도 성과를 보였으며 수도권제2순환고속도로 확포장 239억 원, 광역버스 준공영제 89억 원, 공공형 버스 지원 22억 원 등은 파주시의 광역 접근성과 대중교통 편의성을 높이는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

또한, 환경, 물 관리, 안전 인프라 예산도 폭넓게 확보되었다. 

파주시 환경순환센터 현대화사업 144억 원, 분수 하수관로 정비 97억 원, 민북지역 다목적 농촌용수 개발 78억 원, 한강하류권 급수체계 조정사업 73억 원, 광탄 공공하수처리시설 증설 64억 원 등이 포함되어 시민의 생활환경 및 안전 개선에 직접적인 도움이 될 전망이다.
