파주시 조리읍 경기행복마을관리소가 지난 8월 초부터 11월 말까지 관내 경로당과 마을회관 32개소를 대상으로 ‘찾아가는 폐건전지·폐의약품 수거 서비스’를 추진하여 폐건전지 50kg과 폐의약품 15kg을 수거했다고 밝혔다.

조리읍 경기행복마을관리소는 환경 오염 방지 및 주민들의 편리한 분리배출을 돕기 위해 지난 8월 초 경로당 및 마을회관 총 32개소에 폐건전지·폐의약품 수거함을 설치했다.

이 사업은 당초 2개월 시범 운영 예정이었으나, 주민들의 높은 호응에 따라 11월 말까지 2개월이 추가 연장되어 총 4개월간 진행되었다. 

조리읍 경기행복마을관리소는 내년 이 사업을 정식으로 추진하고 주민 의견을 수렴해 '젤 아이스팩' 수거함을 추가 설치할 계획이다.

봉상균 조리읍장은 “행복마을관리소는 주민들의 생활 속 불편을 해소하고 편의를 높이는 다양한 사업을 추진하고 있다”라며 “앞으로도 주민들의 관심과 참여를 바탕으로 더 나은 생활환경을 만들어 가겠다”라고 말했다.
