파주시 양돈농가들이 아프리카돼지열병(ASF) 등으로 어려운 경영 환경 속에서도 지역사회 나눔을 이어가 훈훈함을 더하고 있다.

파주시는 13일 대한한돈협회 파주지부가 최근 이틀간 진행한 나눔 행사를 통해 성금 1천200만 원과 돼지고기 471kg을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

대한한돈협회 파주지부는 지난 11일 파주시민회관에서 열린 '농업인의 날 행사'에서 소외된 이웃을 위해 성금 1천200만 원을 전달했다. 

이어 12일에는 불우이웃 나눔 행사를 통해 돼지고기 471kg을 추가 기탁했다.

이번에 전달된 성금은 취약계층 복지 활동에 사용될 예정이다. 

기탁된 돼지고기는 지역 복지기관 8곳과 돌봄 단체 2곳을 통해 저소득층 및 독거노인 등 314가구에 전달될 계획이다.

50개 농가로 구성된 대한한돈협회 파주지부는 매년 성금과 돼지고기를 기부하며 지역사회와의 상생을 실천해 왔다. 

특히 올해는 아프리카돼지열병 등으로 소득에 타격을 입은 어려운 상황 속에서도 기부를 이어가 더욱 의미를 더했다.

민승호 대한한돈협회 파주지부장은 "소외된 이웃들의 어려움을 함께 나누고자 매년 성금과 고기를 기부하고 있다"며 "대한한돈협회 파주지부는 지역사회에 사랑과 온정을 전하는 나눔 활동을 꾸준히 이어가겠다"고 말했다.

김경일 파주시장은 "전염병 등 여러 악재 속에서도 나눔을 실천한 파주시 양돈농가들에 감사드린다"며 "기부해 주신 성금과 돼지고기는 도움이 필요한 이웃들에게 소중히 잘 전달하겠다"고 밝혔다.
