고양특례시 일산서구가 관내 공원에 설치된 민방위 비상급수시설의 체계적인 수질관리를 실시해 주민들에게 안전하고 깨끗한 식수를 제공하고 있다고 12일 밝혔다.

현재 일산서구에는 총 11곳의 민방위 급수시설이 설치돼 있으며, 이 시설은 상수도 공급이 중단되는 재난 상황에서 지하수를 활용해 식수와 생활용수를 공급하는 역할을 한다.

이 가운데 대화공원, 성저공원, 가좌공원 3곳은 평상시에도 식수용으로 개방돼 있어 주민들이 자유롭게 이용할 수 있다. 

특히 성저공원 급수대는 이용자가 많아 물통에 식수를 채우는 시민들의 모습을 자주 볼 수 있다.

올해 4분기 수질검사는 지난 11일에 시행됐으며, 같은 날 급수대 하부 청소도 함께 진행됐다. 

이어 오는 18일에는 물탱크 청소가, 21일에는 가좌공원과 대화공원의 지하수 관정 청소가 예정돼 있다.

일산서구는 급수시설의 위생 유지와 안정적인 식수 공급을 위해 월 1회 정기점검, 분기별 수질검사와 물탱크 청소, 2년 단위 관정 청소 등 철저한 관리 체계를 운영하고 있다.

분기별 수질검사는 경기도보건환경연구원과 고양시 상하수도사업소 등 전문기관이 맡으며, 검사 결과는 현장에 게시돼 주민들이 직접 확인할 수 있다.
