고양특례시는 고령자, 임산부, 장애인 등 교통약자의 안전하고 편리한 이동권 보장을 위해 교통복지 서비스를 적극 확대하고 있다고 12일 밝혔다.

시에 따르면 고양시의 교통약자는 전체 인구의 약 29%인 30만8,060명으로 추정되며, 매년 꾸준히 증가하는 추세다. 

이에 시는 교통약자용 차량 확충, 저상버스 보급 확대, 공공형 교통서비스 운영 등 다양한 정책을 추진하고 있다.
