파주시는 교통사고 사망자 수 30% 감축을 목표로 지난 7월 23일부터 10월 31일까지 100일간 추진한 시민 참여형 ‘교통안전, 특별한 100일 프로젝트’가 성공적으로 마무리됐다고 12일 밝혔다.

‘교통안전, 특별한 100일 프로젝트’(이하 ‘100일 프로젝트’)는 시민의 교통안전 의식을 높이고 성숙한 교통문화를 확산하기 위한 범시민 운동으로, 파주경찰서를 비롯한 유관기관과 시 공무원, 시민이 함께 참여해 주요 교차로와 통학로 등에서 다양한 현장 캠페인과 교통법규 계도 활동을 펼쳤다.

이번 프로젝트는 교통사고가 급증하는 가을 행락철을 대비해 추진됐으며, 금촌역 광장과 다율교차로, 운정호수공원 등 교통량이 많은 지역을 중심으로 ▲방향지시등 사용 생활화 ▲음주운전 근절 ▲보행 중 스마트폰 사용 금지 ▲보행자 신호 준수 ▲개인형 이동장치(PM) 안전 수칙 홍보 등 5차례 집중 캠페인을 진행했다.
