파주시는 ‘제30회 농업인의 날’을 맞아 농업인의 노고를 격려하고 자긍심을 높이기 위한 기념행사를 지난 11일 파주시민회관 대공연장에서 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 김경일 파주시장을 비롯해 박정 국회의원, 박대성 파주시의회 의장, 시의원, 이학필 농협중앙회 파주시지부장 등 유관기관 단체장과 김웅기 파주시농업인단체협의회장, 지역 농업인 등 350여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

행사는 파주시립예술단의 공연으로 막을 열었으며, 이어 김웅기 한국농촌지도자 파주시연합회장이 ‘제30회 농업인의 날’ 유공으로 국무총리 표창을 수상했다.

또한 고품질 쌀 생산 등 5개 분야에서 선정된 농어민대상 수상자 5명을 비롯해 파주시 농업 발전에 기여한 우수 농업인과 유관기관 관계자, 읍면지역 공무원 등 총 50명에 대한 시상식이 진행됐다.

김경일 파주시장은 “고물가와 이상기후, 농촌 고령화 등 어려운 여건 속에서도 시민의 안전한 먹거리를 위해 묵묵히 헌신해온 농업인 여러분께 진심으로 감사와 존경의 마음을 전한다”며 “앞으로도 농업인의 안정적인 소득 보장과 지속 가능한 농업 발전을 위해 다양한 지원 정책 마련에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
