고양시 덕양구 소재 원당농협은 지난 7일 원당농협자재센터에서 어려운 이웃을 돕기 위한 ‘사랑의 김장김치 나눔행사’를 개최했다.

이날 행사에는 임직원과 원로청년회, 고향주부모임, 농가주부모임, 채움봉사단, 임직원 가족봉사단 등 60여 명의 봉사자들이 참여해 총 110박스(1박스 5kg) 분량의 김장김치를 정성껏 담갔다.

완성된 김장김치는 원당농협 관내 자연부락 경로당 14개소와 주교동·성사1동·성사2동·흥도동·원신동·식사동 등 6개 동 행정복지센터에서 추천한 어려운 이웃들에게 사회복지공동모금회를 통해 전달될 예정이다.

이창림 원당농협 조합장은 “올해도 어김없이 정성스러운 김장김치로 이웃사랑을 실천할 수 있어 기쁘다”며 “우리의 작은 정성이 추운 겨울을 보내야 하는 이웃들에게 따뜻한 힘이 되길 바란다며 앞으로도 원당농협은 지역 주민과 함께하며 사회적 책임을 다하는 든든한 동반자가 되겠다”고 말했다.

시 관계자는 “매년 잊지 않고 지역사회를 위해 따뜻한 나눔을 이어가는 원당농협과 봉사자 여러분께 감사드린다”며 “정성스럽게 마련된 김치는 어려운 이웃들에게 소중히 전달하겠다”고 전했다.
