경기 고양시 일산소방서는 소속 변정원 소방위(45세)가 지난 24일 부산 해운대 LCT에서 열린 ‘2025년 전국 소방공무원 계단오르기 대회’에서 개인경쟁 간소복 부문 1위를 차지했다고 27일 밝혔다.

이번 대회에는 전국 소방재난본부 및 긴급구조지원기관에서 총 970명이 참가했으며, 전국에서 두 번째로 높은 101층(411m) 규모의 LCT 타워에서 진행됐다. 

대회는 소방대원의 체력을 증진시키고, 초고층 건물 화재 및 재난 상황에 대한 현장 대응 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

변 소방위는 지난해 기록인 14분 30초를 뛰어넘어 14분 12초의 성적으로 결승선을 통과하며, 2023년에 이어 3년 연속 정상에 올랐다. 

그는 “꾸준한 훈련 덕분에 개인 기록을 경신할 수 있었다”며 “앞으로도 강인한 체력으로 시민의 생명과 안전을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

권웅 일산소방서장은 “평소에도 체력 단련을 게을리하지 않고, 3년 연속 1위를 달성한 변정원 소방위에게 박수를 보낸다”며 “앞으로도 꾸준한 자기계발로 시민의 안전을 든든히 지켜주길 바란다”고 격려했다.
