경기북부보훈지청이 광복 80주년을 맞아 독립유공자들의 숭고한 희생을 기리는 의미 있는 발걸음을 이어가고 있다.

경기북부보훈지청은 22일 국가보훈부가 주관하는 '광복 80, 독립유공자 묘소 참배 캠페인'의 일환으로 남양주시 모란공원을 찾았다. 

이날 참배단은 故김봉일 지사와 故박영선 지사의 묘소에 소형 태극기와 국화를 헌화하며 독립유공자들에 대한 존경과 감사의 마음을 전했다.

농민 계몽에 헌신한 故김봉일 지사

故김봉일 지사(1990 건국훈장 애족장)는 일제강점기 농민 계몽운동에 앞장선 독립운동가다. 

수원고등농림학교 재학 중이던 1926년 여름, 그는 항일학생결사 '건아단'을 조직해 농민 교육에 힘을 쏟았다.

1928년 6월, 건아단은 일본 도쿄의 조선농우연맹에 가입하며 조선인에 의한 조선 농촌 개발에 나섰다. 

하지만 일제의 대대적인 탄압으로 활동이 중단됐다. 이후 단체명을 '계림농흥사'로 바꿔 활동을 이어갔으나 결국 발각돼 김봉일 지사를 비롯한 전 단원이 검거되는 고초를 겪었다. 

정부는 1990년 그의 공훈을 기려 건국훈장 애족장을 추서했다.

만주에서 활약한 故박영선 지사

故박영선 지사(1977 건국포장, 1990 건국훈장 애국장)는 1919년 3·1운동 당시 함경남도 신흥군에서 동료들과 함께 만세시위를 주도했다. 일제의 감시가 강화되자 같은 해 4월 만주로 망명했다.

만주에서 박 지사는 1919년 5월 지린성 소재 군관양성학교에서 수학했으며, 1921년에는 대종교인 중심의 독립운동단체 '흥업단' 활동에 참여했다. 

1926년에는 북만주의 독립운동단체 '신민부'에 가담하는 등 만주 지역에서 왕성한 독립운동을 전개했다. 

정부는 1977년 건국포장에 이어 1990년 건국훈장 애국장을 추서했다.

연중 이어지는 참배 행렬

경기북부보훈지청은 올해 초부터 경기북부 관내 11개 지역에 위치한 독립유공자 묘소를 찾아 참배를 이어가고 있다. 

광복 80주년을 맞아 진행되는 이번 캠페인은 독립유공자들에 대한 존경과 감사의 마음을 담아 연중 행사로 시행되고 있다.

손순욱 지청장은 "광복 80주년을 맞이하여 독립유공자 분들에 대한 감사의 마음을 전하기 위해 연초부터 참배를 시작했다"며 "남은 기간까지 최선을 다해 독립유공자를 예우할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

The Late Governor Kim Bong-il, Dedicated to Farmer Enlightenment

The late Governor Kim Bong-il (1990, Order of Merit for National Foundation, Patriotic Medal) was an independence activist who spearheaded the peasant enlightenment movement during the Japanese colonial period.

While attending Suwon High School of Agriculture and Forestry in the summer of 1926, he founded the anti-Japanese student organization "Geon-a Dan" (Geon-a Dan) and devoted himself to farmer education.

In June 1928, Geon-a Dan joined the Korean Farmers' Association in Tokyo, Japan, and began to develop Korean rural areas through Koreans.

This campaign, held in celebration of the 80th anniversary of liberation, is an annual event that expresses respect and gratitude for these independence activists.

Director Son Soon-wook stated, "We began this pilgrimage early this year to express our gratitude to these independence activists on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of liberation. We will do our best to honor these independence activists throughout the remainder of the year."
