(사)한국숲사랑 총연합회 경기지역 회원들이 악천후에도 아랑곳하지 않고 환경보호와 나눔 봉사에 팔을 걷어붙였다.

21일 (사)한국숲사랑 총연합회 경기지역에 따르면 지난 18일과 19일 이틀간 강원도 설악산 산불예방캠페인과 다문화가정 고구마 캐기 행사를 연이어 진행하며 진정한 봉사의 의미를 보여줬다.

빗속에서도 멈추지 않은 환경지킴이들

특히 18일 설악산 산불예방캠페인과 환경정화활동은 비가 내리는 악천후 속에서도 강행됐다.

김필례 경기지역 총재를 비롯해 조금복 사무총장, 정형배 산림보호회장, 송용운 고문(고양예술고 이사장), 홍두표 부총재 등 45여 명의 임원과 회원들은 우비를 입고 기꺼이 봉사활동에 나섰다.

이들은 산불예방 캠페인을 전개하며 등산객들에게 산불의 위험성을 알리고, 등산로와 주변 환경을 정화하는 데 구슬땀을 흘렸다.

6년째 이어지는 '사랑의 고구마 캐기'

다음날인 19일에는 다문화가정과 함께하는 고구마 캐기 체험행사가 열렸다.

 올해로 6년째를 맞는 이 행사는 다문화가정이 한국사회의 당연한 이웃이자 시민으로 자연스럽게 어울릴 수 있도록 하자는 취지로 마련됐다.

김필례 총재, 조금복 사무총장, 홍두표 부총재, 김미경 여성회장(고양시의원), 윤형용 나눔봉사회장 등 50여 명의 회원들이 참여한 가운데, 최근 고양시장 출마를 공식화한 정병춘 민주당 정책위 부의장, 조수진 전 국민의힘 최고위원, 오준환 도의원 등도 함께 봉사에 동참했다.

이날 수확한 고구마는 정은주 고양시 다문화가족지원센터장에게 전달됐으며, 일부는 독거노인 등 취약계층에게 나눠질 예정이다.

"후손에게 물려줄 깨끗한 환경 만들기"

(사)한국숲사랑 총연합회 경기지역은 2019년 4월 창립 이후 자연보호와 산림 숲 사랑 운동을 통해 무궁화 식재 사업을 비롯해 국토청결, 하천정비, 산림보호와 산불예방캠페인 등을 꾸준히 전개하고 있다.

여기에 사회적 취약계층을 위한 연탄배달, 성금모금, 장애인 복지시설 방문 등 다양한 사회공헌활동도 병행하며 지역사회에 온정을 전하고 있다.

매달 정기적으로 전국 각지를 돌며 녹색캠페인을 펼치며 시민들의 참여도 이끌어내고 있다.

김필례 총재는 "궂은 날씨에도 불구하고 많은 회원들이 참석해 감사한 마음"이라며 "숲사랑 봉사자들이 숲과 하천을 맑고 깨끗하게 가꾸는 이유는 우리 후손들이 수려한 자연환경과 맑은 공기 속에서 살 수 있도록 하기 위함"이라고 봉사활동의 의미를 강조했다.

한 회원은 "힘들지만 함께하니 보람이 크다"며 "앞으로도 지역사회를 위한 봉사활동에 적극 참여하겠다"고 다짐했다.

Around 50 members, including President Kim Pil-rye, Secretary General Cho Geum-bok, Vice President Hong Du-pyo, Women's Association President Kim Mi-kyung (Goyang City Council Member), and Sharing Volunteer Association President Yoon Hyung-yong, participated in the event. Also participating were Democratic Party Policy Committee Vice Chairman Jeong Byeong-chun, who recently announced his candidacy for mayor of Goyang, former People Power Party Supreme Council Member Cho Su-jin, and Provincial Council Member Oh Jun-hwan.
