파주소방서는 오는 10월 24일까지 관내 224개 무인점포를 대상으로 화재안전관리 대책을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

무인점포는 인건비 절감과 비대면 소비 확산으로 최근 급격히 증가하고 있으며 대부분 24시간 운영되며 세탁기·건조기 등 전열기기가 상시 가동돼 과열이나 접촉불량에 따른 화재위험이 크다. 

또한 「다중이용업소의 안전관리에 관한 특별법」 적용 대상이 아니어서 소방시설 설치나 안전교육 같은 법적 의무가 없어 제도적 사각지대에 놓여 있고 상주 인원이 없어 야간 화재 발생 시 신고나 초기 대응이 늦어질 우려도 크다.

이번 대책은 최근 무인세탁소, 무인사진관 등 비대면 무인점포가 급증함에 따라 영업주의 화재안전관리 책임의식을 높이고, 부족한 소방 인프라를 보완하기 위한 조치다.

조사 기간 동안 소방서는 화재위험성이 높은 업종을 중심으로 점포별 소방시설 유지관리 상태와 피난·방화시설 확보 여부 등을 집중 점검하고, 지능형 CCTV 및 자동소화장치 설치를 권고한다. 

또한 점포 밀집지역을 선정해 ‘무인점포 안전환경의 날’을 운영하고, 의용소방대와 함께 가연물 제거 활동과 화재예방 캠페인도 병행 추진한다.
