고양특례시가 일산동구 정발산공원 내 반려견 놀이터를 대폭 개선해 지난 8일 재개장했다고 9일 발표했다.

이번 리뉴얼의 가장 큰 변화는 대형견 전용 놀이터의 신설이다. 

기존에는 하나의 공간을 중·소형견과 대형견이 시간대별로 나누어 사용했지만, 이제는 각각의 전용 공간이 마련돼 크기에 관계없이 언제든 자유롭게 이용할 수 있게 됐다.

특히 눈에 띄는 것은 새롭게 도입된 자동출입 시스템이다.

반려견 동물등록을 완료한 반려인이 QR코드로 인증하면 출입문이 자동으로 열리는 방식으로, 미등록 반려견의 무분별한 이용을 차단하고 보다 체계적인 관리가 가능해졌다.

시설 안전성도 대폭 강화됐다. 

이중 출입문과 CCTV를 설치해 안전사고를 예방하고, 놀이터 내부에는 인조잔디를 깔아 보호자와 반려견 모두 쾌적하게 이용할 수 있는 환경을 조성했다. 

보안등 설치로 24시간 언제든 이용 가능한 점도 큰 장점이다.

동물단체 정발산클라스 김윤희 대표는 "정발산 반려견 놀이터는 반려견과 시민 모두를 위한 공간"이라며 "반려견들이 안심하고 편하게 뛰어놀 수 있게 돼 너무 만족스럽다"고 소감을 밝혔다.

시 관계자는 "정발산 반려견 놀이터는 단순한 놀이공간을 넘어 반려인과 반려견이 안심하고 교감할 수 있는 공공시설"이라며 "앞으로도 시민의 요구에 맞춰 반려동물 문화공간을 지속적으로 확충해 나가겠다"고 말했다.

고양시는 증가하는 반려인구에 발맞춰 다양한 복지정책과 인프라를 점차 확대하는 한편, 성숙하고 건전한 반려문화 정착을 위한 정책을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이라고 덧붙였다.

정발산공원 반려견 놀이터는 연중 무료로 이용할 수 있으며, 이용을 원하는 시민은 반려견 동물등록을 먼저 완료해야 한다.
