고양문화재단이 소극장 기획 공연 시리즈 '2025 새라새 ON 시리즈'의 포문을 여는 작품으로 스탠드업 코미디 뮤지컬 '방구석 뮤지컬'을 오는 9월 13일과 14일 양일간 무대에 올린다고 발표했다.

이번 공연은 (재)예술경영지원센터의 2025 공연예술 지역 유통지원사업 선정작으로, 이미 대학로에서 큰 사랑을 받으며 작품성을 인정받은 바 있다. 

문화체육관광부 후원, (재)예술경영지원센터 주최, 고양문화재단 주관으로 진행되는 이 사업은 지역주민들에게 고품격 문화 콘텐츠를 제공하고 지역 문화예술 활성화를 도모하는 것을 목표로 한다.

'방구석 뮤지컬'은 자취방에 모인 세 명의 청년 '지금이', '최지현', '한솔'이 각자의 고민을 나누며 '누가 누가 더 불행한지' 대화를 나누다가 자신들의 이야기를 뮤지컬로 만들기로 결심하는 과정을 그린 작품이다. 

작품은 청춘들의 울고 웃는 솔직한 감정을 오롯이 담아내어 관객들에게 깊은 공감과 따뜻한 위로를 전할 예정이다.

창작진으로는 뮤지컬 '청춘소음', '코스프레 파파' 등으로 따뜻한 감성을 보여준 변효진 작가와 '브론테', '유진과 유진', '조선이야기꾼 전기수', '오즈' 등 다양한 음악적 스펙트럼을 선보인 양지해 작곡가가 참여했다. 

여기에 표상아 연출과 류정아 안무가, 그리고 2인조 라이브 밴드가 합류해 완성도 높은 무대를 선사한다.

주요 배역으로는 긍정적이고 밝은 성격의 뮤지컬 배우 지망생 '지금이' 역에 전혜주와 이아진이 더블 캐스팅으로 출연한다. 

냉철하지만 따뜻한 마음을 지닌 조연출 '최지현' 역은 정다예와 한재아가, 엉뚱해 보이지만 진지한 면모를 가진 작곡 전공 '한솔' 역에는 이한별과 송영미가 각각 캐스팅되어 개성 넘치는 캐릭터들을 선보일 예정이다.

'2025 새라새 ON 시리즈'는 '새롭고도 새로운'이라는 의미의 순우리말 '새라새'에서 이름을 따온 고양문화재단의 소극장 기획 시리즈다. 

소극장 특유의 재미와 감동을 느낄 수 있는 익숙하지 않은 감각의 다채로운 기획공연을 선보이는 것이 목표다. 

재단은 9월부터 12월까지 다양한 장르의 소극장 작품들을 통해 관객들에게 풍성한 예술 경험을 제공할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

The Goyang Cultural Foundation  announced that the stand-up comedy musical "Banggu-seok Musical" will open its "2025 Sarasae ON Series" series of small theater performances, with performances on September 13th and 14th.

This performance, selected for the Korea Arts Management Service's 2025 Performing Arts Regional Distribution Support Project, has already received widespread acclaim and garnered recognition for its artistic quality in Daehangno.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, hosted by the Korea Arts Management Service, and organized by the Goyang Cultural Foundation, this project aims to provide high-quality cultural content to local residents and revitalize the local arts and culture scene.

"Banggu Seok Musical" depicts three young people—Jigeumi, Choi Ji-hyun, and Hansol—who gather in their studio apartment to share their concerns and debate over who is more unhappy, ultimately deciding to turn their stories into a musical.

The work captures the honest emotions of youth, both laughter and tears, and promises to deliver deep empathy and warm comfort to audiences.

The creative team includes writer Byun Hyo-jin, known for her warm and emotional voice in musicals like "Youth Noise" and "Cosplay Papa," and composer Yang Ji-hae, known for her diverse musical spectrum, including "Bronte," "Eugene and Eugene," "Joseon Storyteller Jeon Gi-su," and "Oz."

Director Pyo Sang-ah, choreographer Ryu Jeong-ah, and a two-member live band join the cast to deliver a high-quality performance.

Jigeumi, an aspiring musical actor with a positive and bright personality, is double-cast with Jeon Hye-ju and Lee Ah-jin.

Jung Da-ye and Han Jae-ah will play the cool-headed yet warm-hearted assistant director Choi Ji-hyun, while Lee Han-byeol and Song Young-mi will play the quirky yet serious composition major Han-sol, showcasing unique characters.

The "2025 Sarasae ON Series" is a small theater project by the Goyang Cultural Foundation. Named after the pure Korean word "Sarasae," meaning "new and fresh," it is a series of performances planned for small theaters.

The goal is to present diverse performances with unfamiliar sensibilities that allow audiences to experience the unique fun and emotion of small theaters.

The foundation announced plans to provide audiences with a rich artistic experience through small theater productions of various genres from September to December.
