고양 - 고양도시관리공사(사장 강승필)가 고양시의 수소 선도도시 조성을 위한 마스터플랜 및 기본설계 용역에 본격 착수한다고 29일 발표했다.

고양도시관리공사는 지난 25일 고양시 탄소중립 수소 생태계 정책 이행을 통한 수소 선도도시 조성 마스터플랜 및 기본설계 용역 착수보고회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 보고회에는 경기도, 고양시, 고양도시관리공사, 서울도시가스, 용역사 ㈜드림엔지니어링 등 관계자 19여명이 참석했다.

이번 사업은 작년 '경기도 미니 수소도시 조성사업' 공모에 고양시가 선정되면서 본격 추진되게 됐다. 

고양시의 위탁을 받아 고양도시관리공사가 주관하며, 총 사업비 100억원(도비 50억원, 시비 50억원)을 투입해 3년간 추진된다. 

고양시, 고양도시관리공사, 서울도시가스㈜가 공동으로 참여한다.

핵심 사업 내용은 고양시 내 일일 생산량 1톤 규모의 수소생산시설을 설치하는 것이다. 

이를 통해 수소충전소에 수소 배관 직공급을 실현하여 안정적인 수소 생산 공급 인프라를 구축할 계획이다.

이는 고양시가 현재 추진하고 있는 수소버스 등 상용차 중심의 수소 모빌리티 확장 지원 정책과 연계되어 시너지 효과를 낼 것으로 기대된다.

고양도시관리공사는 향후 사업 영역을 탄소포집형 수소생산기지 구축으로 확대할 계획도 밝혔다. 

이산화탄소 포집 및 저장(CCUS) 기술을 활용한 친환경 청정수소 생산 공급 인프라 확장에도 적극 나선다는 방침이다.

강승필 고양도시관리공사 사장은 "고양시 내 수소생산시설을 설치함으로써 운송비 절감에 따른 저렴한 수소 공급을 통해 고양시 수소 모빌리티 확장지원 정책에 기여하겠다"고 밝혔다.

이어 "더 나아가 고양시가 수도권 북부와 서울을 연결하는 지리적 특성을 활용한 수소 거점도시로 도약하는데 노력하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

고양시의 이번 수소 선도도시 조성 사업은 정부의 탄소중립 정책에 부응하면서 지역 내 수소 경제 생태계 구축의 기반이 될 것으로 전망된다.
