파주소방서가 8일 오전 11시 15분 본서 1층 로비에서 지역 예술가 소엽(素葉) 신정균 작가가 기증한 소방 관련 예술작품의 제막식을 성대히 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 제막식은 소방관들의 희생정신과 사명감을 예술작품으로 승화시키기 위해 마련됐으며, 신정균 작가가 파주소방서에 재능기부 형태로 참여한 대형 미술작품을 처음 공개하는 의미 있는 자리였다.

행사에는 김명찬 파주소방서장을 비롯해 간부 및 직원 20여 명이 참석한 가운데 작품 설명과 기념 촬영, 간담회 등이 진행됐다.

이번에 공개된 작품은 「소방관의 헌신」(2,400mm×1,000mm)과 「소방관의 기도」(2,000mm×800mm) 총 2점으로, 소방관들의 용기와 사명감을 상징적으로 표현한 대작이다. 

이들 작품은 파주소방서 1층부터 3층까지 이어지는 내부 계단 공간에 상설 전시될 예정이다.

기증자인 소엽 신정균 작가는 대한민국미술대전 및 동아미전 등 국내 주요 미술 공모전에서 다수 입선한 실력파 작가로 알려져 있다. 

특히 프랑스 루브르 카루셀 미술관 전시 이력과 율곡선생 유적지 현판 제작 등으로 명성을 쌓아온 중견 예술인이다.

신정균 작가는 "소방관들의 헌신을 예술로 표현하는 데 작게나마 보탬이 되고 싶다"며 이번 재능기부의 취지를 설명했다.

김명찬 파주소방서장은 "이번 기증은 소방정신의 예술적 표현이자 지역사회와의 따뜻한 교류 사례"라고 평가하며, "작품을 통해 도민과 직원 모두가 소방의 가치와 사명을 다시금 되새길 수 있는 계기가 되기를 기대한다"고 소감을 밝혔다.

한편, 이번 작품 기증은 지역 예술가와 공공기관이 협력해 소방관들의 숭고한 정신을 널리 알리는 모범적인 사례로 평가받고 있다.

The Paju Fire Station announced that it held a grand unveiling ceremony for a firefighting-related artwork donated by local artist Soyeop Shin Jeong-gyun in the first-floor lobby at 11:15 AM on the 8th.

The unveiling ceremony, designed to elevate the firefighters' spirit of sacrifice and sense of duty into a work of art, marked the first public unveiling of a large-scale artwork donated by Shin Jeong-gyun to the Paju Fire Station.

The event was attended by Paju Fire Station Chief Kim Myeong-chan, along with approximately 20 executives and staff members. The event included an explanation of the artwork, commemorative photos, and a discussion.

The two works unveiled this time, "Devotion of a Firefighter" (2,400mm x 1,000mm) and "Prayer of a Firefighter" (2,000mm x 800mm), are large-scale works that symbolically express the courage and sense of duty of firefighters.

These works will be permanently displayed in the internal staircase space that extends from the first to the third floor of the Paju Fire Station.

The donor, artist Soyeop Shin Jeong-gyun, is a renowned artist who has won numerous awards in major domestic art competitions, including the Grand Art Exhibition of the Republic of Korea and the Dong-A Art Exhibition.
