파주소방서는 7월 22일부터 8월 22일까지 한 달간 파주시 내 숙박시설을 대상으로 ‘숙박시설 화재안전주간’을 운영하며 선제적인 화재예방 활동에 나섰다.

이번 조치는 지난해 8월 부천시 숙박시설에서 발생한 화재로 7명이 사망한 사고 이후 유사 피해 재발 방지를 위해 추진됐다.

이번 안전주간은 스프링클러가 설치되지 않은 5층 이상 숙박시설 34개소를 중심으로 진행된다. 

소방서는 현장 안전지도, 합동 소방훈련, 화재예방 교육 및 홍보 등 입체적인 예방활동을 전개한다.

관할 소방서장과 부서장이 직접 숙박시설을 방문해 화재안전 지도를 실시하며, 노후 전기제품 위험성 안내, 취사기기 사용 주의 교육, 화재 대피요령 전파, 완강기 관리 점검, 고가 차량 접근성 확인 등 세부 점검을 진행하며 피난 유도선과 비상구 표시 설치 등 시설 보완도 권고한다.

또한 피난 취약 숙박시설의 대응력 강화를 위해 소방서와 119안전센터 단위의 실전 대응 훈련을 실시하고  위성지도와 현장사진을 활용한 가상훈련도 병행해 실효성을 높인다.

화재안전 의식 제고를 위해 숙박업계와의 협력도 강화한다. 

파주시 내 전체 숙박업소 153개소를 대상으로 대한숙박업중앙회 파주시지부와 간담회를 열고, 영업주 대상 교육을 지원한다. 

BIS 시스템과 서한문, SNS 등 다양한 매체를 활용한 홍보도 추진한다.

경기도는 이번 활동이 숙박시설 화재사고를 사전에 차단하고 자율적 안전관리 문화를 확산하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
