사단법인 영토지킴이 독도사랑회가 주최하고 울릉군과 울릉군의회가 후원한 울릉도-독도수영종단 21주년 기념식이 7월 21일부터 24일까지 3박 4일간 울릉도와 독도에서 성대히 열렸다.

이번 행사는 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스 동경장학회와 선순환경제연구소가 협력해 진행됐다.

기념식에는 남한권 울릉군수, 이상식 울릉군의회의장, 길종성 독도사랑회장, 정광태 명예회장을 비롯해 안규철 자문위원장, 홍두표·양창의 부회장, 전호정 울산광역시지부장, 길종구 동국대 교수 등 회원과 대학생 단원, 가수 풍금 등 60여 명이 참석했다.

참가자들은 21일 고양시 독도홍보관을 출발해 경주 주요 유적지를 탐방한 뒤 울릉도로 향했으며 22일 울릉도에 도착한 이들은 평화호를 타고 독도를 방문해 대형 태극기 퍼포먼스를 펼치고 독도경비대와 등대에 위문품을 전달했다.

이어 한국령 비석에서 독도수호 결의를 다지고 독도 정상에 올라 민족적 감격을 나눴다.

울릉군민회관에서 열린 기념식에서는 울림통의 사물놀이 식전공연을 시작으로 ‘울릉도와 독도의 역사문화 관광도서 역할’을 주제로 한 토론회가 열렸다. 

길종성 회장이 좌장을 맡아 홍성근 울릉군의원, 이경희 독도박물관 학예연구사, 김윤배 독도해양연구소 박사 등이 발표에 나섰으며, 동국대 독도봉사단 대표 조태연군과 이승필양이 일본의 독도 침탈을 규탄하는 결의문을 낭독했다.

길종성 회장은 “21년 전의 감동이 다시 떠오른다”며 “독도는 변함없이 우리 땅이며 이제는 정부가 실질적인 독도 수호 행동에 나서야 한다”고 강조했다. 

남한권 울릉군수는 “진정성 있는 독도단체의 활동에 감사드린다”고 말했다.

독도활동 41년째를 맞은 정광태 명예회장은 정부의 적극적 지원을 촉구했으며, 독도홍보대사 가수 풍금은 “여자가수 최초로 독도정상을 밟은 영광을 안았다”며 독도지킴이 가수로서의 포부를 밝혔다.

행사 마지막 날에는 울릉군 가족센터와 장애인센터에 위문품을 전달했으며, 2부 축하공연에서는 정광태 교수의 사회로 가수 김정욱, 조우현, 황효숙 명창과 가수 풍금의 무대가 이어져 큰 호응을 얻었다.

탐방을 마친 후 울릉군수 표창은 전호정 울산지부장, 김보성 사무총장, 김준서·이승필·조태연 학생에게, 울릉군의회의장 표창은 김대희, 최윤서, 임정찬 학생에게 수여됐다.

독도사랑회는 이번 행사를 통해 독도수호의 결의를 다지고 대학생들의 독도 홍보활동을 통해 민족적 자긍심을 고취하는 의미 있는 시간을 가졌다.[고양=박정호 기자]

The participants departed from the Dokdo Promotion Center in Goyang City on the 21st, explored the main historical sites in Gyeongju, and then headed to Ulleungdo. Those who arrived at Ulleungdo on the 22nd took the Peace Ship to Dokdo, performed a large Taegeukgi performance, and delivered consolation items to the Dokdo Guard and lighthouse.

The mayor of Ulleung County, South Korea, said, “I appreciate the sincere activities of the Dokdo group.”

Honorary Chairman Jeong Gwang-tae, who is in his 41st year of Dokdo activities, urged active support from the government, and singer Punggeum, the Dokdo PR ambassador, expressed her ambition as a Dokdo guardian singer, saying, “I am honored to be the first female singer to reach the summit of Dokdo.”

On the last day of the event, consolation gifts were delivered to the Ulleung County Family Center and the Disabled Center, and in the second part of the congratulatory performance, Professor Jeong Gwang-tae hosted the performance, and singers Kim Jeong-wook, Jo Woo-hyun, Hwang Hyo-sook, and singer Punggeum performed, receiving a great response.
