파주소방서는 24일 오랜 기간 지역사회 안전을 위해 헌신한 퇴직 의용소방대원 7명에게 공로패를 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 도민의 생명과 재산을 지켜온 대원들의 노고를 치하하고 감사의 마음을 전하기 위해 마련됐다.

의용소방대는 각종 재난 현장에서 화재 진압, 인명 구조, 응급처치 등 다양한 현장 활동을 지원하는 민간 자원봉사 조직으로, 평상시에는 소방안전 교육과 화재 예방 캠페인 등 지역 안전문화 정착에도 힘쓰고 있다.

공로패는 근속 기간에 따라 차등 수여됐다. 

15년 이상 봉사한 대원 6명에게는 경기도지사 명의로, 10년 이상 봉사한 1명에게는 소방서장 명의로 각각 수여됐다.

수상자 중 최해숙 대원(적성여성의용소방대)은 13년 2개월 봉사로 소방서장 명의 공로패를 받았다. 

경기도지사 명의 공로패를 받은 대원들을 살펴보면, 김옥선·유지철 대원(문산여성·남성의용소방대)이 각각 16년 11개월, 진병일 대원이 18년 11개월, 한명석 대원이 24년 8개월, 안영철 대원이 27년 10개월 봉사했다.

특히 눈길을 끈 것은 이화용 대원으로, 38년 11개월이라는 최장기 근속 기록으로 지역 안전망 구축에 큰 기여를 해왔다.

이번 공로패 수여는 오랜 시간 지역사회에 기여해 온 의용소방대원의 헌신을 되새기는 계기가 됐다. 동시에 민·관이 함께 만드는 지역 안전망의 중요성을 일깨우는 자리로 의미가 크다.

김명찬 파주소방서장은 "수십 년간 묵묵히 지역을 지켜온 대원 여러분의 헌신에 깊이 감사드린다"며 "의용소방대의 소중한 전통이 후배 대원들에게 계승돼 지역 안전의 기반이 되길 바란다"고 말했다.

Paju Fire Department announced on the 24th that it presented plaques of merit to 7 retired volunteer firefighters who have dedicated themselves to the safety of the local community for a long time.

Particularly noteworthy was member Lee Hwa-yong, who has contributed greatly to the establishment of a local safety net with the longest service record of 38 years and 11 months.
