경기도고양교육지원청(교육장 이현숙)이 7~8월 여름방학 기간 동안 지역 초등학생들을 위한 특별한 교육 프로그램을 선보인다.

고양교육지원청은 관내 초등학교 1~6학년 학생 530명을 대상으로 '늘봄학교 대학 연계형 프로그램'을 운영한다고 발표했다. 

이번 프로그램은 지역 대학의 우수한 인적·물적 자원을 활용해 다양한 교육 기회를 제공하기 위해 기획되었다.

지난 18일부터 시작된 이번 프로그램은 세 가지 주요 과정으로 구성되어 있다.

먼저 한국항공대학교와 연계한 '호기심 가득-항공우주 탐험 시작!' 프로그램에서는 학생들이 항공 모빌리티 산업의 중요성을 이해하고 미래 산업 분야의 진로를 탐색할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.

동국대학교의 '드론 기초교육-드론 조종, 코딩 체험' 프로그램은 4차 산업혁명 시대에 필요한 창의적 문제 해결 능력 향상에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 

학생들은 직접 드론을 조종하고 코딩을 체험하며 첨단 기술을 익힐 수 있다.

서정대학교의 '신기한 증강현실 AR 놀이영어' 프로그램은 증강현실 기술을 활용한 놀이형 영어 활동으로 흥미롭고 실용적인 영어 학습 경험을 제공한다.

이번 프로그램은 8월 14일까지 각 학교를 직접 찾아가는 방식으로 운영된다. 교육발전특구 예산으로 진행되는 이 사업은 특히 소규모 학교를 우선 선정해 놀이와 체험 중심의 질 높은 교육활동을 제공한다.

고양시는 교육부의 교육발전특구로 지정되어 학교-대학-지역사회가 연계한 늘봄 확대를 통해 지역 정주성을 높이는 시범사업을 추진하고 있다. 이를 통해 학부모의 사교육비 부담을 줄이고 교육 만족도를 높일 것으로 기대된다.
