일산서부경찰서(서장 강태영)가 지난 20일 일산 킨텍스 제2전시장에서 개최된 '국제관광박람회'에서 교통 기초질서 확립을 위한 대규모 홍보활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

이날 박람회는 국내외 관광산업 관계자들과 다수의 시민들이 참여한 가운데 열렸으며, 경찰서는 '도로 위 당신의 배려가 질서를 만듭니다'라는 슬로건을 내걸고 교통문화 개선을 위한 적극적인 홍보에 나섰다.

특히 부스를 찾은 방문객들에게는 5대 반칙운전 금지 리플릿과 함께 부채, 물티슈 등의 홍보물품을 배포하며 교통법규 준수의 중요성을 강조했다.

눈에 띄는 것은 어린이들을 위한 체험 프로그램이었다. 부모와 함께 박람회를 찾은 아이들은 어린이 교통경찰 역할 체험과 안전한 횡단보도 건너기 체험을 통해 올바른 보행습관을 자연스럽게 익힐 수 있도록 구성되어 교육적 효과를 높였다.

경찰 관계자는 "이번 국제관광박람회 참가를 통해 많은 시민들과 직접 소통하며 교통 기초질서의 중요성을 알릴 수 있어 뜻깊었다"고 소감을 밝혔다.
