파주소방서가 화재 예방을 위한 지역사회 안전망 구축에 적극 나서고 있다.

파주소방서는 14일 파주시 적성면 율포리 마을회관에서 '화재없는 안전마을'로 지정된 3개 마을을 대상으로 주택용 소방시설을 지원하고 주민 안전교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

'화재없는 안전마을'은 파주소방서가 소방안전 사각지대 해소와 주택화재 예방을 위해 추진 중인 사업으로, 이번 지원은 2014년과 2015년에 지정된 마을을 중심으로 이뤄졌다.

이날 행사에는 파주소방서 소방대원 5명을 비롯해 마을주민 14명, 굿네이버스 관계자 2명, LG디스플레이 임직원 2명, 서영대학교 119청소년단 11명 등 총 34명이 참여했다.

참여자들은 소화기 390개, 화재경보기 780개 등 총 1,170점의 주택용 소방시설을 기증받아 화재안전취약계층 가구를 직접 방문해 소방시설을 설치했다. 또한 소방시설 사용법과 화재 대처요령에 대한 교육도 함께 진행했다.

김명찬 파주소방서장은 "화재로부터 안전한 생활환경을 만들기 위해 앞으로도 민간 기업·기관과 협력해 소방안전망을 더욱 강화하겠다"고 말했다.

이번 지원 사업은 파주소방서가 민간 기업과 시민사회단체, 교육기관 등과 협력해 지역사회 소방안전 인프라 구축에 힘쓰고 있음을 보여주는 사례로 평가된다.
