한국법무보호복지공단 경기북부지부에서는 지난 23일 경기북부지부 회의실에서 보호복지위원회 주관 '푸른 꿈 장학금' 전달식을 개최했다.

이날 전달식에는 양희철 경기북부지부장과 송환구 보호복지위원회 부회장을 비롯한 법무보호위원들이 참석한 가운데, 엄정한 심사를 통해 선정된 법무보호대상자 3가정에 장학금이 전달됐다.

푸른 꿈 장학금은 법무부 법무보호위원 경기북부지부 보호복지위원회가 후원하는 특별 장학사업이다. 

초·중·고교 및 대학교에 재학 중인 경기북부지부 보호대상자 자녀 중 가정형편이 어렵지만 성실하고 모범적이거나 학업성적이 우수한 학생들에게 학비를 지원한다.

이 장학금의 핵심 목적은 단순한 경제적 지원을 넘어 어려운 환경으로 인한 청소년 탈선을 예방하고, 범죄의 대물림이라는 사회적 악순환의 고리를 끊는 데 있다.

전달식에서 송환구 부회장은 "어려운 환경 속에서도 굴하지 않고 학업에 정진하여 우리나라에 이바지할 수 있는 사람으로 성장하길 바란다"며 "부모님들께서도 자녀들이 그렇게 성장할 수 있도록 잘 도움을 주시길 당부한다"고 격려했다.

양희철 지부장은 "매번 법무보호대상자 자녀 지원을 위해 힘써주시는 최대현 회장님을 비롯해 보호복지위원회 위원님들께 깊은 감사를 드린다"며 "장학금 대상자로 선정된 가정의 부모님들께서도 자녀들의 학업을 위해 지속적으로 노력해주시기 바란다"고 말했다.

이번 장학금 전달식은 단순한 일회성 지원을 넘어 법무보호대상자 가정의 자녀들에게 교육 기회를 제공하고, 이를 통해 건전한 사회구성원으로 성장할 수 있는 기반을 마련한다는 점에서 의미가 크다.
