사단법인 영토지킴이독도사랑회는 지난 19일 서울 독도홍보관에서 트롯가수 조우현을 독도홍보대사로 위촉했다.

‘일산의 아들’로 불리며 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 조우현은 방송과 유튜브를 통해 가창력을 인정받고 있으며, 신인가수임에도 불구하고 재능기부와 봉사활동을 꾸준히 이어오며 독도사랑과 이웃사랑을 실천하고 있다.

이날 위촉식에는 길종성 독도사랑회 회장을 비롯해 김양신 이사, 이정열 실장, 그리고 독도학당 학생 10여 명이 참석해 의미를 더했다. 

조우현은 위촉식 후 청소년들의 일일교사로 나서 함께 체험활동을 진행하며 유익한 시간을 보냈다.

조우현은 “신인가수로서 출발이 중요하다고 생각한다”며 “노래를 통해 독도사랑, 이웃사랑을 실천하고 대중들의 기억에 오래 남는 성실한 가수가 되겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

길종성 회장은 “신세대 가수답지 않게 행동에 진정성이 묻어난다”며 “노래로 독도사랑을 실천하겠다고 먼저 찾아온 모습에 감동을 받았다”고 말하며, 인성의 중요성을 강조하고 조우현에게 힘찬 응원을 보냈다.

한편 조우현은 ‘오빠 따라와’ 등의 곡으로 주목받고 있으며, 지자체 문화행사 등 다양한 무대에서 활발한 활동을 펼치고 있다.
