파주시산림조합이 운영하는 임산물유통센터의 나무전시판매장이 봄을 맞아 3월 15일부터 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다.

이번 나무전시판매장에서는 다양한 품질 좋은 수목류(유실수, 조경수, 약용수)와 초화류, 관엽류는 물론, 수목용 비료, 조경석재, 목제품, 표고 접종목, 우드칩 등도 전시된다.

이 모든 제품들은 일반 시중 가격보다 저렴한 가격으로 소비자에게 공급된다.

나무전시판매장의 집중운영기간은 3월 15일부터 5월 6일까지로, 운영 시간은 매일 오전 8시부터 오후 6시까지이다. 

이 기간 동안에는 산림경영지도원이 배치되어 방문객들에게 식재 및 전지 방법 등 수목 관리에 관한 기술 지도를 제공하며, 임업 및 산림에 대한 유용한 정보도 현장에서 직접 받을 수 있다. 

또한, 파주시는 나무전시판매장 외에도 조경수, 야생화, 관엽류 등을 지속적으로 전시 및 판매할 예정이며, 겨울철에는 친환경 연료인 목재펠릿과 캠핑용 장작, 화목용 장작도 생산·판매할 계획이다.

전진옥 조합장은 "한 사람이 평생 배출하는 탄소를 상쇄하려면 소나무 기준으로 약 160그루가 필요하다.

많은 분들이 우리 나무전시판매장에 방문하여 산책하고, 구경하면서 나무에 대해 배우고, 직접 나무를 식재함으로써 기후변화 대응에 함께 동참해주셨으면 좋겠다"며 방문을 독려했다.[파주=빅정호 기자]
