고양특례시 일산동구는 한파와 강설이 지속되는 가운데 지난 13일 일산동구 한파 쉼터로 지정된 백석1동 경로당을 방문해 ‘한파 대비 시민 안전’ 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

구는 2월의 시작 시점부터 영하 10도 이하의 아침 기온과 강설이 지속되고, 겨울철 한파 취약계층(독거노인 등)이 야외 활동을 하면서 건강에 이상이 생길 확률이 높아지자, 이번 캠페인을 추진했다.

캠페인에는 일산동구청 김주영 안전건설과장과 오미근 백석1동장, 직원들이 함께했으며 한파 쉼터로 지정된 백석1동 7블럭 경로당 등 3개소의 경로당에 방문했다.  

경로당 어르신들에게 한파 예방 행동요령이 적힌 홍보물을 배부하며 ▲ 한파 취약계층 대상 건강 확인 ▲한파 시 야외 활동 자제 ▲겨울철 수도 동파 예방 대책 등을 설명했다. 

또한 귀마개, 핫팩 등 방한용품을 배부하면서 한파에 취약한 어르신과 시민 개개인이 안전관리에 스스로 동참할 수 있도록 안내했다.

특히 김주영 과장은 마을 어르신들로부터 쓰레기 무단투기 방지, 도로 물 빠짐관리, 공원 놀이시설 관리 등 마을 애로사항을 빠짐없이 경청하고 기록하며 “말씀해 주신 애로사항을 조속히 처리하도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

김주영 안전건설과장이 직접 동네 어르신들을 만나 민원을 듣고, 해결 방안을 모색해준 데 대해 오미근 백석1동장은 어르신들이 감사함을 전했다.
