이동환 고양특례시장은 지난 12일 남양주시 경기시청자미디어센터에서 열린 경기도시장군수협의회  제7차 정기회의에 참석해 지역현안과 건의사항에 대해 논의했다.

이동환 시장을 포함해 경기도 31개 시장·군수들이 참석한 이번 회의에서는 경기도 시내버스 공공관리제와 학교급식비 분담률 상향 안건이 논의됐다.

해당 사업에 대한 시군 분담률이 지나치게 높아 재정적 부담이 커지고 있다는 점을 수차례 건의했으나, 도에서는 재정 여건상 어렵다는 입장만을 고수하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 경기도시장군수협의회는 모든 시군에 적용되는 현안인 만큼 경기도 분담률 상향을 강력히 촉구하는 공동건의문을 채택했다.

이 밖에도 시는 영상문화단지의 신속한 조성을 위한 사업지 내 그린벨트 해제 요청과 교외선 청원건널목 4개소의 관리예산 지원, 철도사업 운영비 지원 등 3개의 안건을 경기도에 건의했다.

이동환 고양특례시장은 “경기도 시내버스 공공관리제와 학교급식비의 시군 분담률이 지나치게 높아 시군 재정에 큰 부담을 주고 있는 만큼, 경기도는 좀 더 책임감을 가지고 광역지자체 분담률 상향 방안을 적극적으로 모색해야 할 시점”이라고 강조했다.
