파주시와 파주한마음교육관은 2월 7일 금촌1동 행정복지센터에서 ‘2025년 성인문해교육 졸업식’을 개최했다.

공식 학력인정기관인 한마음교육관은 이번 졸업식에서 초등학력 12명 중등학력 23명 등 총 35명의 졸업생을 배출했다. 

이번 졸업생들은 60대에서 80대로 다양하며, 올해 졸업생 중 최고령자는 만 84세의 나문주 어르신으로 가장 많은 연령에도 불구하고 열정적으로 배움에 임해 졸업의 결실을 맺었다.

이날 졸업식에서는 가족, 재학생 등이 참석한 가운데 만학의 결실에 대한 축하공연과 성인문해 기여자에 대한 시상 등 성인문해 관계자 모두가 즐기는 축제의 장이 마련됐다.

최병갑 파주시 부시장은 “늦은 나이임에도 불구하고 배움의 열정으로 졸업의 결실을 맺은 졸업생 여러분들께 진심으로 축하의 말씀을 전하며, 배움에 대한 도전을 이어나갈 수 있도록 문해교육에 대한 지속적인 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”라고 밝혔다.

초등학력인정과정은 정규교육 기회를 놓친 성인이 검정고시 없이 초등학력을 취득할 수 있도록 추진하는 교육으로, 파주시는 비문해자와 기초학력 미취득 성인의 삶의 질 향상 및 교육의 기회균등을 위해 연간 약 8천만 원의 보조금을 지원하고 있다.[파주=빅정호 기자]
