고양특례시 일산서구는 관내 주요 역세권 또는 자전거도로에 공기주입기가 부족해 불편을 겪었던 시민들의 자전거 이용 환경을 개선하고자 태양광을 이용한 자전거 공기주입기를 설치했다고 밝혔다.

구는 타 지자체에 비해 자전거 공기주입기 대수가 현저히 부족해 지속적으로 민원이 제기되고 있는 실정을 반영해 친환경 자전거 공기주입기를 설치했다. 

공기주입기가 설치된 위치는 자전거 이용량이 많은 ▲지하철 3호선 대화역(6번 출구) ▲주엽역(5번 출구) ▲경의중앙선 일산역(1번 출구) ▲탄현역(2번 출구) ▲문화공원(후곡) ▲대화동 행정복지센터 앞으로, 총 6개소이다.

이는 태양광을 이용한 친환경 방식으로 기존 수동식에 비해 공기주입 시간이 짧고 내구성이 높으며 자전거 공기 주입구에 종류에 따라 3가지 방식(던롭, 슈레더, 프레스타)을 모두 사용할 수 있다.

특히 조작이 간단해 여성과 청소년 도 손쉽게 사용할 수 있다.

구 관계자는“올해 상반기 주민 의견 청취와 현장점검 내용을 바탕으로 자전거 이용률이 높은 지역에 공기주입기를 추가로 설치할 예정”이라며, “자전거 거치대 설치, 자전거도로 환경 개선 등도 함께 추진해 주민들의 안전한 라이딩을 돕고 자전거 이용을 활성화해 주민건강 증진과 탄소 제로에 기여할 것.”이라고 말했다.[고양=박정호 기자]
