파주시산림조합은 산림사업장에서 발생된 산림부산물인 참나무 원목을 수집하여 경제적 소외계층의 따뜻한 겨울나기를 위한 사랑의 땔감을 지원했다.

 사랑의 땔감은 산림부산물을 수집하여 산림자원의 활용도를 높이고, 난방용 에너지자원으로 이용되는데 그 의미가 있으며 지난 2014년부터 시작하여 매년 사랑의 땔감 예산을 수립하여 전달하고 있다.

전진옥 조합장은 “최근 환율 및 유가 상승으로 취약계층의 연료비 부담을 덜어주고, 연말을 맞이하여 겨울한파를 녹이는 따뜻한 정을 이웃들과 나눌  수 있는 계기가 되었으면 좋겠다” 라고 말했다. 

 이어서 “앞으로도 매년 사랑의땔감 지원을 추진하여 산주·임업인·조합원과 지역주민에게 푸른 온기 가득한 동반자가 될 수 있도록 산림조합의 역할에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.[파주=빅정호 기자]
