고양특례시 덕양구는 지난 29일, 크리스마스를 맞이해 따뜻한 연말연시 분위기를 조성하고자 화정역 문화광장과 덕양구청 로비에 대형 크리스마스 트리를 설치하고 점등식 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

점등식에는 행사를 주관한 덕양기독교연합회를 비롯해 한찬희 덕양구청장, 50여 명의 시민들이 참석했다. 이날 크리스마스 트리 점등을 시작으로 성탄 메시지 전달, 덕양구청장의 축하 말씀, 중창단의 성탄 노래 등이 이어졌다.

구는 화정역과 화정 문화의거리 사이에 위치한 문화광장에 높이 7.9미터, 폭 4미터의 대형 트리와 포토존, 조명볼 등 다양한 조형물을 설치했으며, 시민들에게 따뜻한 빛과 희망의 메시지를 전하고 있다.

크리스마스 트리는 매일 17시부터 익일 2시까지 점등되며, 화정역 광장에 희망찬 연말연시 분위기를 연출할 예정이다. 

또한 덕양구청 로비에도 민원인과 직원 등이 오가며 볼 수 있도록 소형 트리를 설치했다.

한찬희 덕양구청장은 “추위로 몸과 마음이 움츠러드는 요즘, 점등식 행사를 통해 환하게 밝힌 불빛이 시민들에게 따듯한 희망과 위로를 주기를 바란다.”라며 “크리스마스 트리를 보며 즐거운 추억을 많이 만들고 따뜻한 연말연시를 보낼 수 있기를 소망한다.”라고 밝혔다.
