파주를 대표하는 축제로 자리 잡은 제28회 파주장단콩축제가 ‘전통의 맛, 현대의 멋’이라는 주제로 오는 11월 22일부터 24일까지 3일간 임진각광장에서 개최된다.

이번 축제는 다채로운 프로그램과 풍성한 즐길 거리로 방문객들을 맞이할 전망이다.

이번 파주장단콩축제는 ‘알콩(볼거리)’ ‘달콩(먹거리)’ ‘놀콩(놀거리)’ ‘살콩(살거리)’ 4가지 주제로 구성됐다.

주요 볼거리로는 파주장단콩의 역사적 전통을 한눈에 살펴볼 수 있는 ‘파주장단콩전시관’과 파주시민들이 직접 참여하는 ‘거리공연’ 등이 준비되어 있다.

먹거리 부문에서는 파주장단콩으로 만든 즉석 두부, 빵, 떡 등이 판매되며, 파주 농산물을 활용한 향토 음식점도 운영되어 축제의 풍미를 더할 예정이다.

놀거리 부문에서는 축제의 대표 체험 프로그램인 ‘꼬마메주 만들기’와 전통 농경문화를 느낄 수 있는 ‘콩 타작 체험’, 손맛을 더하는 ‘김치 만들기 체험’, 그리고 향수를 자극하는 ‘7080 추억놀이’ 등 다채로운 체험 활동이 마련되어 있다.

살거리 부문에서는 파주장단콩을 비롯한 다양한 농·특산물과 가공품을 선보이는 판매장이 운영되며, 정겨운 시골 장터 분위기를 재현한 재래장터도 마련돼 방문객들에게 특별한 경험을 제공할 예정이다.

축제장 방문 편의를 위해 문산역과 임진각 행사장을 오가는 순환버스가 수시로 운영된다. 또한, 환경을 고려한 축제로 거듭나기 위해 1회용기 대신 다회용기를 사용할 계획이다.
