고양특례시(시장 이동환)는 6월 호국보훈의 달을 맞아 제69회 현충일 추념식을 6일  덕이동 소재 고양시 현충공원 현충탑에서 거행했다.

이날 추념식에는 이동환 고양특례시장과 김영식 고양특례시의회 의장, 국회의원, 경기도의원, 시의원, 보훈 단체장 등 600여 명이 참석한 가운데 나라를 위해 목숨을 바치신 순국선열과 호국영령의 명복을 빌었다.

이동환 시장은 추념사를 통해 호국영령에 대해 추모하고 보훈 가족에 대한 위로와 존경의 말씀을 전하면서 "고양특례시가 순국선열을 더 오래, 더 깊이 기억하고 예우에 최선을 다해 그 위대한 헌신에 보답해 나가겠다”라고 밝혔다.
