고양특례시는 지난 9일 고양관광정보센터에서 경희대학교 관광대학원과 고양관광 활성화를 위한 업무협약식을 가졌다.

올해는 경희대학교 관광대학원의 문화관광산업경영과정 고양캠퍼스가 설립된 지 24주년이 되는 해이다. 

이를 맞아 약 860여 명 이상의 졸업 동문들이 고양특례시 지역관광 활성화를 위해 할 수 있는 역할을 모색하고자 추진된 이번 협약은 대학의 지역 내 역할 수행과 관광부문 민·관·학 협력 체제 확립을 주요 골자로 한다.

이날 경희대학교 관광대학원 고양캠퍼스에서는 20여명의 동문들이 모두 참여해 고양특례시 지역관광 활성화를 위한 적극적인 의지와 관심을 보였다.

이번 협약에서 이동환 고양시장은 “고양특례시는 이중 삼중 규제들로 묶여 있어 자족도시로 나아가기 힘든 여건에 있으나 최근 마이스 산업 육성, 바이오·첨단 기업 유치 등 경제자유구역 지정과 혁신기업유치에 총력을 기울여 오고 있으며 특히 거점형 스마트시티로 선정돼 도시의 구조적 변경을 맞이하고 있다”라고 밝혔다. 

이어“고양특례시가 전세계 최고 수준이 되기 위한 한 축이 관광인데 오늘 관광부문 1위 대학 경희대학교의 최고 과정인 관광대학원과 업무협약을 맺게 되어 기대가 크다”라고 전했다.

이에 경희대학교 관광대학원 정남호 원장은 “이제 관광은 특별함보다는 일상이며 ‘살아보기' 관광이 트렌드가 되었는데, 스마트 관광 또한 거주자들을 위한 지역 생활·교통,·환경의 고민에서 비롯되어야 할 것”이라고 말했다.

또한 “최근 대학이 지자체와 함께 사회혁신활동을 하면서 학점을 받는 제도가 있는데 이러한 시스템을 잘 활용해 대학이 지역과 함께 소통하며 관광의 축을 이루는 계기로 삼았으면 한다”라고 밝혔다.
