파주시는 27일 파주시산림조합에서 이웃사랑을 위한 후원금 1천만원을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

파주시산림조합은 1962년 설립돼 임업인 조합원이 필요로 하는 기술, 정보 등을 원활히 제공하고 지속 가능한 산림경영 촉진 및 임업인의 지위 향상을 목적으로 하는 비영리 법인이다.

파주시 저소득 취약계층을 위해 매년 후원금을 기탁해오고 있으며, 앞으로도 취약계층의 따뜻한 겨울나기를 위해 후원을 이어 나가겠다는 뜻을 전했다.

전진옥 산림조합장은 “길어지는 경기침체로 어려운 우리 이웃은 더욱 힘든 고비가 되겠지만, 이렇게 나눔 문화가 함께 한다면 복지의 기본적 가치인 ‘편안한 삶’을 전 세대에 차별없이 공정하게 지원하게 될 것이며, 모두가 따뜻한 복지공동체가 조성될수 있도록 노력하겠다” 고 말했다.
