파주시산림조합은 추운 겨울철 경제적으로 어려운 소외계층을 위해 따뜻한 겨울을 보낼 수 있도록 산림부산물을 수집하여 사랑의 땔감을 지원했다. 

사랑의 땔감은 파주시 관내 산림부산물을 수집하여 자체적인 가공단계를 거쳐 땔감으로 사용할 수 있는 화목용 장작으로 생산하여 에너지 취약 가구에 공급되는 난방용 에너지 자원으로서  파주시산림조합에서 지난 2014년부터 매년 사랑의 땔감 예산을 수립하여 지원하고 있으며 , 2023년에는 총 12가구에 약 24톤의 사랑의 땔감을 지원했다.

전진옥 조합장은 “동절기 취약계층의 난방비 부담을 덜어주고, 겨울철 소외된 이웃에게 따뜻한 온기를 전할 수 있어 매우 기쁘며, 앞으로 안정적인 부산물 수집을 통해 지원량을 확대하여 더 많은 가구에 지원할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”라고 말했다. [파주=박정호 기자]
