고양시가 2023 고양국제꽃박람회에서 시민들에게 해외 자매·우호도시를 알리기 자매도시교류관을 운영했다. 

고양꽃전시관 북카페 내 설치된 자매도시교류관은 고양시와 자매·우호 결연을 맺고 있는 7개국 13개 도시의 위치, 결연일 등의 상세한 설명과 4개 해외도시에서 2023 고양국제꽃박람회 개최를 축하하며 보낸 대표 화훼와 화훼 예술품이 전시됐으며 미주권에서 미국 샌버나디노시(市)와 라우던 카운티가 참여했고, 아시아권에서 일본 하코다테시(市)와 중국 연길시(市)가 참여했다.

미국 샌버나디노시는 2003년 자매결연 체결 후 올해 20주년 축하의 의미로 샌버나디노시 시민들이 제작한 화훼예술품을 전달했다. 

고양시와 2013년 자매결연을 맺은 미국 라우던 카운티는 결연 10주년을 축하하며 대표화훼인 산딸나무와 수국 등을 전시했다. 

일본 하코다테시는 벚꽃, 진달래를 전시했으며, 중국 연길시는 시화인 영산홍을 전시했다.

자매도시교류관에서는 4개 도시의 관광지와 대표 행사를 상세하게 안내하는 안내판이 함께 설치되어 많은 관람자들이 방문해 화훼예술품과 함께 고양시 자매도시의 관광·문화 정보를 알아봤다.

올해 참여하지 못한 해외도시는 내년 고양국제꽃박람회에서 대표화훼와 함께 홍보될 예정이다.[고양=박정호 기자]
