파주시와 LG디스플레이가 지역경제 활성화와 첨단산업 경쟁력 강화를 위해 손을 맞잡았다.

파주시는 지난 30일 시장 접견실에서 정철동 LG디스플레이 사장을 비롯한 주요 경영진과 차담회를 갖고, 지역 산업 발전과 기업 지원을 위한 주요 현안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

이번 차담회는 민선 9기 출범 이후 LG디스플레이 경영진이 파주시청을 공식 방문한 첫 자리로, 양측은 파주 디스플레이 산업의 추진 현황을 공유하고 기업과 지역사회가 함께 성장할 수 있는 협력 방안을 폭넓게 논의했다.

이날 자리에는 손배찬 파주시장과 민생경제국장, 도시발전국장 등 파주시 주요 관계자들이 참석했다. 

LG디스플레이에서는 정철동 사장을 비롯해 경영지원그룹장과 경영지원담당 등이 참석해 지역 산업 현안에 대한 의견을 나눴다.

특히 양측은 LG디스플레이의 OLED 투자 확대와 이에 따른 행정적 지원 방안, ​산업단지 입주 기업과 근로자들의 정주 여건 개선 등을 주요 의제로 다뤘다.

파주시는 LG디스플레이의 안정적인 사업 추진과 기업 활동을 뒷받침하기 위해 행정적 지원을 강화하고, 기업 현장의 애로사항을 신속하게 파악해 해결하는 협력 체계를 구축해 나갈 방침이다.

또한 이번 만남을 계기로 파주시와 LG디스플레이 간 상시 소통을 강화해 지역 내 주요 산업 현안에 공동 대응하고, 기업 투자와 지역경제 활성화가 선순환하는 기반을 마련한다는 계획이다.
