“Let’s Build a Crime-Free Community”… Probation Office and Ilsan District Council Launch All-Out Effort to Protect Youth

“Preventing Youth Crime, Nurturing Dreams”… Joint Public-Private Street Campaign Held

Chairperson Kim Pil-rye: “Active Interest and Participation from the Entire Community Are Essential to Creating a Safe Society”

The Lafesta area in Ilsan, Goyang City, transformed into a venue for an on-site campaign dedicated to community crime prevention and youth protection.

On October 1, the Ministry of Justice’s Probation Office and the Ilsan District Council conducted a joint public-private crime prevention campaign in the Lafesta area, targeting local residents and youth under the slogan, “Let’s Build a Bright, Crime-Free Society Together.”

The campaign was organized to raise public awareness regarding community crime prevention—an issue of growing importance—and to encourage the community to establish a protective network where youth can nurture their dreams and hopes in a safe environment.

Displaying the slogan “A Bright Society: Dreams and Hope for Youth,” participants toured the central Lafesta district and distributed crime prevention materials to citizens.

They particularly emphasized that while efforts by administrative and relevant agencies are valuable, they have limitations; therefore, community-wide prevention activities—driven by the active interest and participation of all residents—are crucial for protecting youth from crime and harmful environments.

Key figures, including Chairperson Kim Pil-rye, Advisor Ju Seung-man, Honorary Chairperson Na Sang-ho, Advisory Committee Member Kim Mi-kyung, and other prominent members, participated in the event. They engaged directly with citizens to explain the necessity of crime prevention and urged them to join in the effort to create a safe community. Kim Pil-rye, President of the Ilsan District Council, emphasized, "A bright, crime-free society cannot be achieved through the efforts of a single individual alone; it can only be realized when all members of the community take an interest and participate together."

She added, "We will spare no effort in providing continued attention and support to ensure that young people can nurture their dreams and hopes within a safe environment."

The Ilsan District Council plans to expand its crime prevention activities in collaboration with the local community, moving beyond mere one-off campaigns.

Through initiatives such as regular street campaigns, one-on-one mentoring, and counseling for students, the council aims to support youth in growing into healthy members of society while strengthening the local community's safety net.

"We will carry out effective activities from various angles to ensure residents and youth can live in a healthier, safer environment," President Kim said, adding, "We will steadfastly continue our crime prevention efforts alongside the community."

Meanwhile, the Ilsan District Council of the Ministry of Justice’s Probation Office plans to continue not only community crime prevention activities but also volunteer work and support programs designed to assist probationers in successfully reintegrating into society.
