Paju City Conducts ‘Integrated Violence Prevention Training’ for 100 Senior Officials (Grade 5 and Above) to Foster a Healthy Organizational Culture

- Training covers the prevention of four major types of violence: sexual harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence, and prostitution; emphasizes the responsibilities and roles of senior officials.

- Ranges from self-assessment to preventing secondary victimization; aims to spread a public service culture rooted in mutual respect and consideration.

Paju City has launched an initiative to raise awareness regarding violence prevention among senior public officials and to foster a healthy organizational culture based on mutual respect and consideration.

The city announced that it conducted "Integrated Violence Prevention Training for Senior Officials" over two days, from September 29 to 30, in the City Hall conference room, with approximately 100 senior officials (Grade 5 and above) in attendance.

The training was designed to promote a proper understanding of the four major types of violence—sexual harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence, and prostitution—and to reinforce the responsibilities and roles senior officials must assume in preventing violence within the organization.

Notably, the training moved beyond mere theoretical instruction, focusing instead on scenarios that could actually arise in the workplace.

Participants used self-assessment questionnaires to reflect on their own words and actions and explored practical measures to create an organizational culture where public officials respect and show consideration for one another.

Additionally, the session covered types and examples of secondary victimization that can occur during incidents of sexual harassment or gender discrimination, and discussed concrete response strategies to protect victims and prevent further harm within the organization. Given the significant impact that the words and actions of high-ranking officials have on the organization, the training focused on reinforcing their responsibilities and roles regarding violence prevention.

Paju Mayor Son Bae-chan emphasized, "Since the words and actions of high-ranking officials profoundly influence the atmosphere and standards of the entire organization, they are required to shoulder a special responsibility and play a key role in preventing violence."

He added, "Let us build a healthier organizational culture together, starting with small acts of mutual respect and consideration."

Starting with this session for senior officials, Paju City plans to continuously expand its violence prevention training programs.

Through these efforts, the city aims to foster a culture of mutual respect across the public sector and create a safe administrative environment that provides peace of mind to both employees and citizens.

A Paju City official stated, "Violence prevention is not a task to be addressed through a one-time training session; it requires continuous attention and practical action from every member of the organization," adding, "We will steadfastly continue our prevention activities to cultivate a healthy organizational culture rooted in mutual respect."
