오후석 전 경기도 행정2부지사가 제6대 고양특례시 제2부시장에 취임하고 본격적인 시정 업무에 들어갔다.

고양특례시는 1일 오후석 전 경기도 행정2부지사를 제2부시장으로 임명하고 임용장 수여식을 시작으로 공식 일정에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.

오후석 제2부시장은 연세대학교에서 도시공학 박사 학위를 취득한 도시·행정 분야 전문가로, 경기도 경제실장과 용인시 제1부시장, 행정안전부 생활안전정책관, 경기도 행정2부지사 등을 역임했다.

중앙정부와 광역·기초자치단체에서 주요 보직을 두루 경험한 만큼 도시개발과 교통, 안전 등 고양시의 주요 현안을 해결하는 데 행정 경험과 전문성을 발휘할 것으로 기대된다.

이날 고양시청 대회의실에서 열린 취임식에는 민경선 고양특례시장과 간부공무원 등 50여 명이 참석했다.

오 제2부시장은 취임사를 통해 “고양은 지금 새로운 변화의 출발점에 서 있다”며 “새로운 시정 슬로건인 ‘가치 있는 고양, 같이 가는 고양’을 바탕으로 시민과 행정이 함께하는 시정을 만들어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “교통·안전·일자리·주거·문화 등 시민의 삶과 직결된 분야에서 도시의 가치를 증명하겠다”며 “고양시가 가진 풍부한 잠재력을 현실의 성과로 연결해 시민들이 일상에서 체감할 수 있는 변화를 만들어내겠다”고 강조했다.
