Paju City Hosts 17th ‘Social Welfare Day’ Event… “Welfare Reaching Citizens in Their Daily Lives”
- Held at Starfield Village Unjeong under the theme “Welfare Stepping Out”; featured a talk concert, welfare experience activities, and integrated care promotion.
Paju City has created an opportunity for citizens to experience welfare services more closely in their everyday lives.
The city announced that it held the “17th Paju City Social Welfare Day” commemorative event at Starfield Village Unjeong on the 29th.
Held under the theme “Welfare Stepping Out,” the event was organized to boost public interest in and understanding of social welfare and to share the value of community-based welfare.
Attendees included Paju Mayor Son Bae-chan, staff from local social welfare facilities and organizations, and members of the general public.
The event was conducted in three parts.
Part 1 featured a talk concert by Professor Lee Ho-sun, a family psychology counseling expert; she engaged the audience by sharing stories about life and the various concerns people face in their daily routines.
The Part 2 ceremony began with a pre-event performance, followed by commemorative speeches, congratulatory remarks, an awards ceremony honoring individuals who contributed to the development of local welfare, and a reading of the Social Worker Code of Ethics.
Part 3 featured experience and promotional zones where citizens could directly engage with various welfare policies and services.
Consultation and promotional booths covering welfare areas such as services for the elderly, children, youth, and people with disabilities were set up, providing citizens with necessary welfare information in one convenient location.
Notably, the Integrated Care Team from Paju City’s Welfare Policy Division operated a dedicated promotional booth to raise awareness about the “Medical and Nursing Integrated Care Project,” which was fully launched this year. Citizens were provided with easy-to-understand information regarding community-based, personalized care services and how to access them, thereby fostering a better understanding of welfare policies.
Paju Mayor Son Bae-chan stated, "I hope this Social Welfare Day event served as a meaningful opportunity for citizens to experience welfare firsthand and share in the value of community welfare," adding, "We will continue to implement compassionate welfare policies that closely connect citizens with the welfare sector."
