고양특례시가 국내 대표 전시 주최사인 ㈜메쎄이상과 손잡고 임신·출산·양육 친화적인 지역사회 조성에 나선다.

고양시는 지난 9월 28일 시청에서 ㈜메쎄이상과 임신·출산·육아 친화적 사회 분위기 확산을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약에 따라 양 기관은 오는 10월 8일부터 11일까지 킨텍스에서 열리는 ‘코베 베이비페어’​와 연계해 ‘고양시 임신·출산·양육 정책 홍보 페스티벌’을 공동 운영한다.

행사에서는 예비 부모와 영유아 양육 가정을 대상으로 고양시의 각종 임신·출산·양육 지원정책을 알리고, 관련 정보를 쉽고 편리하게 접할 수 있는 홍보 및 체험 프로그램을 마련할 예정이다.

고양시는 정책 자료 제공을 비롯해 행사 운영에 필요한 행정적 지원과 협력사항 홍보를 맡는다. 

메쎄이상은 행사장 내 홍보 공간과 프로그램 운영을 지원하고, 고양시 다자녀 가족을 위한 특별 이벤트 등을 마련해 출산·양육 가정을 응원한다.

특히 대규모 유아·육아 관련 전시회와 지자체의 정책 홍보를 연계한다는 점에서 시민들이 실제 생활에 필요한 지원 정보를 한자리에서 확인할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

고양시는 이번 협약을 계기로 민간 전시기업이 보유한 전시·홍보 인프라와 지자체의 출산·양육 정책을 결합해 시민 체감도를 높이고, 민관 협력 기반의 출산·양육 친화 환경을 확대한다는 방침이다.

민경선 고양특례시장은 “이번 협약을 통해 시민들에게 고양시의 다양한 임신·출산·양육 지원정책을 보다 가까이에서 알릴 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 민간과 적극적으로 협력해 출산·양육 가정이 체감할 수 있는 정책을 확대하고 아이 키우기 좋은 도시 고양을 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.
