Paju Public Health Center Operates Customized Health Management Program for Seniors
The Paju Public Health Center has prepared a program utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to promote the health and enhance the self-management capabilities of seniors receiving home health care services.
The Paju Public Health Center announced that it began operating the second half of the "Today's Health Filling Class" on the 2nd, targeting 20 seniors who wished to participate. This program was launched to help seniors practice health management in their daily lives by adding face-to-face health promotion activities to those currently receiving non-face-to-face health care services based on smart devices.
Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Paju Public Health Center's Health Exercise Room, and the curriculum is composed of content encompassing physical activity, emotional support, and health information education.
The "Health Growth Class," designed to improve physical function, conducts strength training using small equipment and activities to strengthen basic physical fitness. Meanwhile, the "Mind Talk Class" enhances the emotional stability and vitality of seniors through various experiences such as gardening and crafts, while also facilitating natural interaction among participants. The ‘Knowledge-Filled Classroom’ delivers information necessary for a healthy lifestyle, such as oral care, prevention of chronic diseases, and nutritional management, and guides participants on how to manage their own health so they can put the educational content into practice in their daily lives.
Paju Public Health Center expects that by linking ICT-based non-face-to-face management with on-site health promotion programs, it will help seniors continuously monitor their health status and form healthy lifestyle habits.
Yeo Sang-mi, Head of the Health Promotion Division, stated, “In the second half of the year, we will continue to support seniors in systematically managing their health by linking ICT-based non-face-to-face health management with face-to-face programs,” adding, “We will continue to expand customized services to promote the health of local residents.”
