파주문화재단이 제2대 대표이사로 조성환 전 경기도의회 기획재정위원장을 임명하고 새로운 도약을 위한 행보에 나섰다.

파주문화재단은 지난 1일 조성환 신임 대표이사에게 임명장을 전달하고 본격적인 업무에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.

조성환 대표이사는 가톨릭대학교 의료경영대학원에서 석사학위를 취득했으며, 제10대와 제11대 경기도의회 의원을 지냈다. 

특히 경기도의회 기획재정위원회 위원장을 역임하며 주요 정책과 재정 현안을 다뤄온 경험을 갖추고 있다.

또 한국중독연구재단에서 근무하는 등 공공기관 분야에서도 경험을 쌓아 지역 현안과 행정, 공공기관 운영 전반에 대한 전문성을 갖췄다는 평가를 받고 있다.

조 대표이사는 취임 포부를 통해 “파주문화재단이 시민과 지역 예술인이 함께하는 지역 문화예술의 중심이 될 수 있도록 많은 노력을 기울이겠다”고 밝혔다.

특히 지역의 문화예술 기반을 강화하고 시민들이 일상 속에서 문화를 향유할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 한편, 지역 예술인들의 창작과 활동을 뒷받침하는 역할을 충실히 수행하겠다는 의지를 나타냈다.

손 시장은 “파주문화재단이 새로운 대표이사와 함께 한 단계 더 발전해 나가는 중요한 시기”라며 “재단의 역할과 역량을 높이고 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 문화서비스를 확대해 주길 바란다”고 말했다.

이어 “시민 누구나 일상에서 문화를 누릴 수 있도록 문화복지를 확대하고, 지역 예술인들이 활발히 활동할 수 있는 기반을 마련해 품격 있는 문화도시 파주를 만들어가는 데 중요한 역할을 해주길 기대한다”고 강조했다.

그러면서 “파주시도 재단과 적극적으로 소통하고 협력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
