고양특례시의 대곡역 복합환승센터와 킨텍스역 환승센터가 국토교통부 대도시권광역교통위원회의 제4차 환승센터 및 복합환승센터 구축 기본계획(2026~2030)에 계속사업으로 최종 반영됐다.

이번 기본계획 반영으로 대곡역 복합환승센터는 수도권 광역교통축 가운데 고양·파주축의 거점 환승센터로서 역할을 강화하게 됐다. 

대곡역은 GTX-A를 비롯해 경의중앙선, 서해선, 일산선이 교차하는 철도 교통의 핵심 거점으로, 향후 경기 북서부 광역교통의 중심지로서 기능이 한층 강화될 전망이다.

특히 현재 추진 중인 대곡역세권 지식융합단지 조성사업과 연계해 교통과 자족 기능을 함께 갖춘 복합 공간으로 조성한다는 구상이다. 

시는 대곡역을 광역교통망의 단순 환승 거점을 넘어 주변 개발과 연계한 지역 성장의 핵심 거점으로 육성한다는 방침이다.

킨텍스역 환승센터도 이번 기본계획에 계속사업으로 반영됐다.

 GTX-A 킨텍스역을 중심으로 철도와 버스 간 환승 편의를 높이는 것이 핵심으로, 시민들의 대중교통 이용 편의와 접근성을 개선하는 데 목적을 두고 있다.

고양시는 앞으로 GTX-A 이용 수요와 킨텍스역 주변 개발 여건 등을 종합적으로 분석해 환승센터의 실효성을 높일 수 있는 추진 여건을 면밀히 검토할 계획이다.
