고양특례시가 공직자의 인권 감수성을 높이고 조직 내 인권 존중 문화를 확산하기 위한 인권교육을 진행했다.

고양특례시는 지난 26일부터 27일까지 이틀간 시 소속 공직자 180여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 영화로 배우는 공무원 인권교육’을 성황리에 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 기존의 강의식 인권교육에서 벗어나 영화와 강연을 접목해 공직자들이 역사적 사건을 통해 인권의 의미를 자연스럽게 이해하고 공감할 수 있도록 마련됐다.

참석자들은 제주4·3의 아픔과 생존자들의 삶을 조명한 영화 ‘내 이름은’을 함께 관람하며 국가폭력과 평화, 인권의 가치에 대해 생각하는 시간을 가졌다.

영화 상영 후에는 제주4·3 유족이자 생존자 가족인 오지은 박사가 강연자로 나서 영화 속 이야기를 바탕으로 제주4·3의 역사적 의미와 생존자 및 유족들의 삶에 대해 설명했다. 

참석자들과의 소통을 통해 과거의 아픔을 기억하고 인권의 가치를 되새기는 시간도 이어졌다.

교육에 참석한 한 공직자는 “그 시대를 살아낸 사람들의 이야기를 통해 인권의 참된 의미를 깊이 고민해보는 계기가 됐다”며 “영화라는 매체를 통해 딱딱하지 않고 자연스럽게 인권에 다가갈 수 있어 유익했다”고 말했다.

시 관계자는 “제주4·3은 평화와 인권의 가치를 바탕으로 우리가 반드시 기억해야 할 역사”라며 “앞으로도 다양한 방식의 인권교육 프로그램을 마련해 시민의 존엄과 권리가 존중받는 인권 친화적 행정문화를 더욱 단단히 다져나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
