경기도고양교육지원청은 지난 28일 YMCA고양국제청소년문화센터 유스센터에서 ‘2026년 8월말 퇴직교원 정부포상 및 장관표창 전수식’을 개최했다.

이번 전수식은 오랜 기간 교육 현장에서 학생들의 성장과 교육 발전을 위해 헌신해 온 퇴직교원들의 노고에 감사의 뜻을 전하고 영예로운 퇴직을 축하하기 위해 마련됐다.

올해 8월말 퇴직하는 고양지역 정부포상 및 장관표창 대상자는 총 64명이다. 

이날 행사에는 퇴직교원과 가족을 비롯해 후배 교원과 학생 등 교육공동체 구성원들이 참석해 선생님들의 새로운 출발을 함께 축하했다.

행사는 학생들의 축하공연과 축하 영상 상영을 시작으로 이현숙 교육장의 축사, 훈·포장 및 표창장 전수, 후배 교원의 송사와 퇴직교원의 답사 순으로 진행됐다.

특히 신일중학교 학생들이 준비한 관악 연주는 참석자들에게 특별한 감동을 선사했으며, 각 학교에서 마련한 축하 영상에는 퇴직교원들과 함께했던 소중한 추억과 감사의 마음이 담겨 의미를 더했다.

이어진 송사에서 후배 교원들은 오랜 시간 교육 현장을 지키며 후배 교사와 학생들에게 귀감이 되어 온 선배 교원들에게 존경과 감사의 마음을 전했다. 

퇴직교원들도 답사를 통해 교육자로서 걸어온 시간을 되돌아보고, 동료와 후배 교원들에게 따뜻한 격려와 응원의 메시지를 전했다.

이현숙 교육장은 축사를 통해 “오랜 시간 학생들의 성장과 교육 발전을 위해 헌신해 오신 선생님들께 깊은 존경과 감사의 마음을 전한다”며 “오늘 이 자리가 선생님들의 소중한 발자취를 함께 기억하고 새로운 출발을 진심으로 축하하는 따뜻한 시간이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

이날 전수식은 교육 현장에서 묵묵히 학생들을 위해 헌신해 온 퇴직교원들의 발자취를 되새기고, 교육공동체가 함께 감사와 존경의 마음을 나누는 자리로 마련됐다. 

참석자들은 선생님들의 영예로운 퇴직을 축하하며 앞으로 펼쳐질 새로운 삶을 응원했다.
