경기북부보훈지청이 대한주택건설협회, 동광종합토건㈜과 함께 가평지역 국가유공자 2가구의 노후주택을 무료로 보수하며 따뜻한 보훈 실천에 나섰다.

경기북부보훈지청은 국가를 위해 헌신한 국가유공자들의 희생과 공헌에 보답하고, 쾌적하고 안전한 주거환경을 제공하기 위해 추진한 ‘국가유공자 노후주택 무료보수사업’을 성공적으로 마무리했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업의 대상은 가평군 설악면과 가평읍에 거주하는 국가유공자 가정 2곳이다.

설악면 국가유공자 가구에는 주방과 거실 등 노후화된 내부 공간을 전반적으로 정비했다. 

발코니 타일과 천장을 보수하고 노후 창호를 교체해 주거 편의성을 높이는 한편 단열 성능도 개선했다.

가평읍에 거주하는 6·25참전유공자 가구에는 노후화로 일상생활에 불편을 겪던 화장실을 집중적으로 개선했다. 

천장과 타일 등을 전면 보수해 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 주거공간으로 탈바꿈시켰다.

특히 이번 사업은 동광종합토건이 가평군 설악면 신천리 일원에 총 1,039가구 규모의 ‘썬밸리 오드카운티 가평설악’을 공급하는 과정에서 지역사회와 연계해 추진한 사회공헌활동이라는 점에서 의미가 크다.

동광종합토건은 지난 2005년부터 올해까지 22년째 국가유공자 노후주택 무료보수사업에 참여하고 있다. 

건설기업의 전문성과 기술력을 활용해 국가유공자들의 주거환경을 개선하는 등 지속적인 사회공헌활동을 이어오고 있다.
