파주시 중앙도서관이 다가오는 자원순환의 날을 계기로 시민들과 함께하는 친환경 프로그램을 마련했다.

도서관 측은 오는 9월 6일 '자원순환으로 숲을 지켜요'라는 이름의 프로그램을 진행한다고 밝혔으며 이번 행사는 기후위기에 대응하는 독서문화 조성을 목표로 매년 이어오고 있는 '안녕, 이웃 숲' 사업의 하나로 기획됐다. 

도서관은 앞서 지난 6월에도 '우리는 환경을 생각하지'라는 이름을 걸고 계절 음식 만들기, 헌책 교환, 옷 수선 등 여러 친환경 체험 프로그램을 선보인 바 있다.

이날 준비된 프로그램은 총 네 가지이며 다 쓴 현수막을 재활용해 에코백을 직접 만들어보는 체험, 산호와 관련된 환경 이슈를 다루는 '21% 파티' 강연, 안 입는 옷을 서로 바꿔 입는 '21% 파티' 교환 행사, 그리고 폐기 도서와 지난해 발행된 잡지를 나눠주는 프로그램이 마련됐다.

'21% 파티'는 옷을 쉽게 버리고 새로 사는 소비 방식에 문제를 제기하며 대안을 모색하는 단체 '다시입다연구소'가 운영하는 프로그램이며 파주에서 이 활동을 이끌어 온 환경활동가 김상희 씨가 강연자로 나서고, 강연이 끝나면 시민들이 각자 가져온 옷을 서로 교환하는 자리도 이어진다.
